Our Purpose
The Benefit provides a wonderful opportunity for the Brearley community to come together and support the School.
The Benefit Committee is pleased to announce that proceeds from the 2009 Benefit will help to build the endowment for faculty salaries at Brearley. While the Annual Fund is an essential component of the School’s operating budget each year, the endowed fund supported by the Benefit proceeds provides significant additional funding, helping all of our daughters as well as generations of future students.
Brearley parents take pride in knowing that their children attend one fo the finest schools in the city. This distinction is due in large part to our teachers and the learning environment they have created. To secure the very best teachers, we must offer compensation that reflects their expertise and is competitive with other independent and public schools. For this reason, faculty salaries and benefits constitute approximately 78 percent of the School’s budget expenditures. Strengthening our faculty compensation program to attract the best candidates for new positions and to show appreciation to those who have given years of devotion and dedication remains the School’s top budget priority and is essential to Brearley’s success as a pre-eminent institution of learning.
