Dear Members of the Brearley Community,

We are writing to invite you to join us as underwriters of the 2009 Brearley Benefit, Brearley Jams! — a concert, followed by a buffet dinner, to be held on the evening of Sunday, April 19, 2009, at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers.

We need your help to make this important School event successful. In these challenging times, we are especially thankful that our daughters receive an outstanding education at Brearley, where they are guided and supported by an exceptionally talented, dedicated faculty. The Benefit Committee is honored to allocate the proceeds of the 2009 Benefit to help build the endowment for faculty compensation, one of the core goals established in the School’s Strategic Plan.

We recognize our Benefit underwriters by fulfilling their request for the number of Benefit tickets needed for the event and we are proud to acknowledge them in the evening’s program. There are five underwriter levels: $15,000, $10,000, $7,500, $5,000 and $2,500. We hope you will be inspired by our purpose to stretch to the highest possible level.

Underwriting contributions secure the financial success of the Benefit. We have worked hard to hold down the cost of the Benefit and are confident that ticket sales will cover expenses, including complimentary tickets for faculty and staff and families receiving financial assistance. The net proceeds of the Benefit will be fully committed to the funding of faculty salaries at Brearley.

Given the importance of our cause, we are eager to exceed past Benefit totals. Thank you for recognizing the excellence of teaching at Brearley and its impact on our daughters by considering a leadership role in support of the 2009 Benefit.
